Colin Andrews is the current director of the Theater Department. He teaches acting as well as a dramaturgy class, and directs the fall "straight play" as well as the spring mainstage musical.

He is married to chemistry teacher Violet Andrews and has four children: Julie, Emma, Matilda and Beatrice.

A very fatherly fellow, he was once a well-respected dorm parent at The Academy, but his contract in the dormitories was terminated after he and Violet failed the school's three-strikes disturbance rule: first for the unplanned two-in-the-morning home birth of Julie in 2004, then a diarrhea-inducing chemical spill in the faculty lounge for which Violet was responsible, followed by an incident involving a sloth and an injury that caused permanent damage to a student.

He has a sister named Nicola.
