"Joseph and the Amazing Testicular Dreamcoat" is the nineteenth episode of Season 3.

Synopsis

After further tests reveal that Jonathan does not have cancer, the elated theater department head goes on a celebratory spending spree purchasing elaborate special effects gadgets and makeup for the spring musical and hiring up-and-coming fashion designer prodigy Joseph "JJ" James as his costumer for the piece when a film project for which the young man was costuming falls through. Bonnie, days away from staging the world premiere of the medical opera "Non sono stato io a mettermelo nel culo, deve essere stato un fantasma!", is forced to rein in her husband before he goes over budget trying to recreate giant abdominal holes and twisted necks for his lead actresses while simultaneously dealing with the normal stresses of planning an opera and trying to figure out why young JJ looks so familiar. Carole, already convinced The Academy will hire JJ full time, suggests to Vera that the sartorial wunderkind will have very little to do with only two mainstage productions a year and that he should work for the visual art department in his down-time.
